Utility Billing

 Overview

Do you have an after-hours EMERGENCY? Please call 208-382-5160.

The City of Cascade provides upwards of 700 drinking water connections and 650 sewer connections and operates systems which must maintain compliance with Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (IDEQ) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards and regulations for public drinking water systems including rigorous water quality testing through lab analysis and subsequent required reporting.

Utility bills are generated at the end of the month with payment due on or before the 10th of the following month. Cascade’s monthly utility bill includes both water and sewer costs. A typical bill will include a base charge for each, and any system improvements funded through bonds. The water portion of your bill includes a sliding rate for water usage per thousand gallons increasing as water usage increases. Utility rates are reviewed annually and increases and decreases (as bond balances decrease) are put into effect at the beginning of each fiscal year on October 1st.

Cascade has a history of contracting water studies and will continue to conduct them to ensure these utility enterprise funds are sufficient to keep up with the delivery of clean and safe drinking water and well managed wastewater collection and treatment.

Utility bills can be paid via check, credit or debit card, and cash. Online payment options are available and autopay is encouraged. Payments via credit card are subject to a convenience fee.

For customers that want to drop off a check or cash payment at City Hall located at 105 S. Main St. (adjacent to Columbia Bank), the office is open from 8:30 am through 4:30 pm and for your convenience there is also a “blue” door drop box to accommodate before or after business hours payments.

Attention Snowbirds and those customers having plumbing work done – Water OFF or ON requests must be received in writing (via email ok) and should include your name, your utility service address, and the date you would like services turned OFF or ON. Please allow 48-hours-notice. Service request fees will be added to your next utility bill. For additional water and sewer related fees, please refer to the Fee Schedule to right of this page under RESOURCES.
