Building Department
OVERVIEW
Welcome to the City of Cascade Building Department. Our mission is to help promote public health, safety, and welfare by regulating structures within the City of Cascade. The City of Cascade operates in compliance with the 2018 International Building Code.
Are you planning to build, remodel, or re-roof? Know before you build – permits required. Call 208-382-4279 or email deputyclerk@cascadeid.us for a Building Permit application.
A Floodplain Development Permit is a Federal Requirement if you plan to build, replace, or remodel any aspect of a building in a designated floodplain. The required Floodplain Development Permit must be submitted in conjunction with your Building Permit application.
Inspections on all projects are required. Requests for inspections must be made in writing (email OK). For more detail on City of Cascade inspection requirements, please refer to your 4-page building permit application.
If your project encompasses electrical, HVAC, plumbing, freestanding propane, or wood burning stoves; review and approval must be obtained from the appropriate State of Idaho official. These approvals are required by the City of Cascade building department prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy (COO).
Reminders to applicants: plan for payment of building permit fees in partial or full at the time of submission of your application. Depending on the scope of the project, additional fees may apply.
FIRE DISTRICT IMPACT FEES
Effective October 3, 2022, an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Cascade and the CRFPD (Cascade Rural Fire Protection District) requires the City to collect an impact fee on behalf of the CRFPD.
These fees will be collected during the building permit application process for new construction as follows:
Single Family Residence $1,876.00
Commercial Buildings $0.75 per square foot
