Planning & Zoning
Overview
Note: Effective May 10, 2021 and per Resolution No. 21-06, the City Council and Mayor will assume P&Z Commission duties as prescribed in code normally performed by the Planning and Zoning Commission in a timely manner.
The City of Cascade Planning & Zoning Department offers many services and enforces a multitude of ordinances and codes. The Planning & Zoning administers and advises on the City Code, Subdivision Regulations, Signage, Addressing, Land Use and Development Ordinance. We offer assistance to applicants and zoning information to ensure development proposals meet applicable codes and direct the future of the community toward appropriate physical and economic growth compatible with our natural environment and the Cascade Comprehensive Plan.
Meetings are ordinarily held on the third Monday of each month at 6:15 pm at City Hall, 105 South Main Street, Cascade, Idaho. If the regularly scheduled meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting will be held the Tuesday following.
The Planning & Zoning Commission members are appointed by the Mayor, and confirmed by City Council. Commissioners duties consist of making recommendations to the City Council respecting comprehensive planning, zoning and subdivision regulations. The Commission also applies the same to the individual proposals brought to the Commission for approval or for recommendation to City Council. This Commission acts in this statutory capacity as Planning & Zoning Commission under Idaho Code with respect to zoning and planning in the City. The term of office is four years. There are five members.
